Kathie and the Hippopotamus
Excerpts from Trade City’s 1998 production of “Kathie and The Hippopotamus” by Peruvian playwright Mario Vargas Llossa. A man and a woman agree to meet in the attic of an imaginary Paris where the woman (Kathie – played by Liv Boughn) has hired a ghost-writer to script the memoirs of her trip to Africa. As the stories become more elaborate and more exagerrated so do the characters. Directed by Maureen Weiss.
